Preparing for baby...

Here's how we have been getting ready for our new addition.
Washing the newborn (both girl and boy) clothes...

Jacks been making sure all the baby toys are broken in and ready to go.
We bought (great deal used!) and assembled a new bed with storage for Jack. He hasn't moved to sleeping there yet, but I love the storage!

I think we are ready! We are all really looking forward to meeting the new addition to our family. Jack loves to play with his "baby" doll, so I think it will transfer over to the real thing. The real baby will be much more fragile though, which will be hard for him to understand. He loves when we incorporate the "baby" into what we are doing around the house, hopefully he will be as gracious to our real one :o)

Jacks 2!!!

we had a great party yesterday for Jacks birthday. It was pouring the hour before everyone showed up, but it cleared up and the sun even peaked out later.

We made Jack a TAXI cake out of watermelon. All the boys loved it, and it was quickly devoured!

Jack had to lose his shirt because of watermelon juice dripping... So the rest of the party he was shirtless. I love this picture of the four little boys. All two now!

Group shot!

Jack had fun opening his presents and he got lots of help as everyone wanted to participate.

Play time

I'm getting some pictures together to show how we have been getting ready for the new baby (I've got some good ones of Jack using baby things :o) But until then here are a few from play time the other night. Bryan got some great ones!

Weekend Get-Away!

This past weekend Bryan and I had a little overnight get-away. A teacher at school had giving Bryan a give of overnight baby-sitting, so we cashed that in and headed out to Lantau Island here in HK. We stayed in a little guesthouse right on the beach, and enjoyed great food at one of our favorite places in Hong Kong.
Bryan is posing nicely to show off the sea view room :o)
A Gigantic spider we saw on our morning walk!
Beautiful view from the hill.
Big whale on the beach ;o)
Yummy lunch before heading home. Jack did great on his first night away from us, and we really appreciated the time away!

my cutie pie!

Here's our last week in pictures...
Last night eating out at one of our favorite places. Jack loved sitting at the "high" table and he gobbled up his flafel!
He fell asleep while I was running errands. I love how he is holding his "baby".
Playing with dad before bed.
Swim time with his friends. They are all looking so old these days!
Last weekend we went to the beach. Jack loved the sand and water.
This video is from 10 pm last night. Jack was "helping" Bryan carry the pieces to his new bed into the house. He was so excited to be helping!

8 Months

Here we are... 5 more weeks until my due date! Really looking forward to meeting this new little one... He/She is really a mover and a shaker, so I am looking forward to not having a gymnast in my belly anymore. Still hovering around the 25 lb. mark, and feeling good. Jack and I have been getting out for lots of walks since being back in HK, and I've also done some swimming this week.
I have had some heartburn this month for the first time in my life, so maybe that means this child will have lots of hair! :o) Although Jack was pretty hairy and I had no heartburn with him... Lots to look forward to in the next few weeks. We are still working on finalizing a name if it turns out to be a boy, so hard for us to find one we both like.... yikes! Getting there though....

potty time!

Since arriving back in Hong Kong last Friday night we have moved on to the next stage of toddlerhood... We are giving potty training a go... for now! :o) We'll see how it goes and how things are looking in a few weeks... not sure if now is the right time for us all or not, but I would LOVE to not have two in diapers. I know that you aren't suppose to potty train right before a big change (new baby!), but I figure I am home more now, and will be after the baby is born, than I ever am, so we have the time. It may not work... However, I am seeing some really progress this week, and am optimistic about it. Here's how it's going so far...
LOTS of naked time! :o)

I'm keeping him on the potty by reading... LOTS of books! Or really the same ones over and over :o)

And really the best part of the whole thing.. new underwear! Here's my adorable model striking a pose :o)
How's it going? Well, we haven't had any poop accidents since we started on Mon! Yeah! Three times in the potty and once in his diaper at night....
as for pee... he doesn't understand this as well as the other... He's gone lots in his homemade training pants, but this morning we had our first potty chair success with pee, so I am hopeful he can start to make connections! Oh, and Jacks new word of the week "fart" :o) I'm such the proud mom :o)

Final week in WI

Our last week in WI was really nice and relaxing. Jack and I kept busy and spent lots of time with family and friends.
We spent a morning with my friend Kate and her boys. Unfortunately, our park and picnic was spoiled by rain, but a McDonalds play place and picnic in the van saved the day!

Jack camped out with my mom one night and did great!
Mom and I spent the week painting... for more details click HERE.

We are now back in HK and almost over jet lag (yeah!) nice to be home and Jack is loving finding all his toys again...
