Chueng Yeung Festival
On Wednesday Bryan got a day off of school for this Hong Kong Public Holiday. We don't celebrate it, but its always nice to have a day off! The local Hong Kong people use this day to pay respect and to remember their ancestors. Families journey to the graves of ancestors to perform cleaning rites and pay respect. Its also a day for people to go hiking!
Our apartment overlooks a beautiful mountainside, and it has a old burial grounds on it. So... I snapped a few pictures yesterday of the visitors! You can just see the corner of our building in the last shot. We didn't hike or clean a grave, but instead celebrated the day off by going out for Mongolian BBQ lunch, yum! :o)
