Christmas in R1D

Jack had his Christmas play and party today... it was all SO sweet and wonderful. I had a good laugh at Jack singing at the top of his lungs (but not knowing all the words) and a tear in my eye as the kids all "gave their hearts" to the tiny baby in the manger.  We leave in 36 hours.... packing to do and Christmas decorations her to take down... I think tomorrow will be a busy day! Love, hugs and Merry Christmas!
 The three wise men ;o)
 Jack and Josiah
Jacks class and teachers (1 teaching assistant, one "real" teacher who will be back in January, and the wonderful Sub who has been there all fall while the other teacher was on maternity leave.

 saying his one line...

I have to put a picture of max on as he tagged along for the day.

Christmas is in the air...

 Parties...

 Friends...
And while it's looking a lot like Christmas.... it doesn't feel like Christmas (at least for a couple of people who grew up in a cold weather climate) :o) This past week has been quite warm. We had the run the air conditioner yesterday at our Christmas party so that we could all drink the hot cider! :)
I made the boys wear their Christmas outfits to Church this morning so we could take photos afterwards. Poor Jack was so hot!

 awwwww!
It all went downhill when I asked Jack to hug his brother :o)

The boys have been loving this season. Jack is really into it for the first time and can remember last year, so he's got things he wants to do! We have one advent calendar counting down to Christmas and one counting down to our departure on Saturday! Looking forward to seeing family over the coming weeks....

Cookie Exchange

We had our annual cookie exchange this morning. The boys helped me to get the frosting ready (or at least lick the beaters) :o)
 The cookies! Nice work everyone!
 The Crew!
 Hard at work decorating.

 Good Friends!
My kitchen is full of cookies and our hearts full Christmas Joy.

we really enjoyed the long weekend.... Friday evening we decorated the house for Christmas and we all thinks its just beautiful!

Pretty sure these beads wont be used for decorating this year... :o)
We bought the boys a tiny tree to keep in their bedroom and put their ornaments on.

Thanksgiving in R1D

Being the "american" parents in the class, Christine and I volunteered to do the Thanksgiving party for Jack and Josiahs class. It was super fun! We did a presentation with the first Thanksgiving story, games, songs and then a semi-traditional feast for the kids. Of course, Jack was the one who didn't want to try any of the food :o)
.
Don't you love the head bands :o)

 Love them!
 The little tag-alongs :o)

At this point Jack had total meltdown and is not even in the photo :o)
